ISFM21- June 2021 (3000 delegates x 3 days)

No catnapping at ISFM (International Society of Feline Medicine) as OCTA ensures delivery of an upbeat, energetic virtual conference

ISFM21, the World Feline Congress, took place in the virtual realm in June this year attracting 3000 global delegates over 3 days for an in-depth look at the path to diagnosis of the cat. The event was delivered seamlessly on the OCTA platform with technical direction and support from AVCOM.

The annual conference involved more than forty-five international feline experts representing a wide range of veterinary discipline

s. New this year, and made possible by the deployment of OCTA, were the live panel sessions that facilitated interactive learning, addressing many of the misconceptions that vets may have in clinical practice on common disease issues.

As a highly flexible virtual platform, OCTA was customised to match the tiniest details of ISFM’s brand guidelines, providing a seamless user experience and interface, in total harmony with ISFM’s look and feel.

Deploying a mixture of both pre-recorded and live content, and with multiple Q&A sessions on each day, ISFM21, although operating exclusively in the virtual realm, was characterised by a highly engaged audience, with strong levels of interactivity across all channels including chat, Q&A and polls. ISFM attributed this to the user friendliness and efficiency of the OCTA platform.

Ongoing delegate engagement was facilitated by the use of a social wall with attendees posting images and comments from their locations all over the globe.

A Treasure Hunt, along with gamification, was offered, linked to the thirteen  2D and 3D sponsor booths. This ensured that attendees were both engaged and intrigued throughout the conference.

This all-virtual event lacked no element of the physical, in-person conference with abstract / poster session also available, along with on-line voting and the usual awards. Best of all, educational sessions were recorded and are now available on-line as an additional legacy benefit for attendees.
